As a teenager, Linda Diane Bennett created a “Bricklayer" design almost identical to thousands of quilts found throughout the United States. Bennett, however, alternated and staggered strips from a dozen or more pairs of denim work clothes in a cascade of blue and blue-gray hues, creating standard but lively “Bricklayer" forms that are echoed by similar shapes in solid white, producing a quilt that is at once familiar and unique.
